Overview

French has been an instrument in the organization of international relations and, along with English, remains one of the two diplomatic languages of the global system. Its clarity and precision make it well-suited for drafting treaties and conducting international negotiations. For diplomats and international actors, proficiency in French—and their ability to understand and communicate with ease—is essential and key to maintaining productive relationships and better defending national interests in international forums.

‍This language training program is designed to strengthen French language skills, with an emphasis on speaking, listening, and writing.Through realistic scenarios, it enables participants to gain a nuanced understanding of the subtleties and nuances of the French language, while providing the technical vocabulary essential for effective communication and negotiation in the diplomatic and international spheres.

This program, available in person and online, can be customized and tailored to the level and objectives of an individual participant or a group.  

Training Objective

  • Master the vocabulary specific to diplomatic and international relations;
  • Become familiar with the forms of expression used in the diplomatic community;
  • Be able to speak effectively in a formal setting (debate, meeting, conference, etc.);
  • Develop a style adapted to the writing of reports, notes, minutes, etc...
  • Improve pronunciation and phonetics

A practical and personalized approach based on:

  • oral and written expression exercises;
  • role-playing exercises and simulations based on diplomatic and professional contexts;
  • reading comprehension and speaking exercises;
  • practical exercises in diplomatic and institutional writing;
  • Individualized support tailored to the participants' skill levels and goals.
